PSALM OF PROVIDENCE

A friend was always proud of how she’d been offered a job and promised a letter to confirm it; when the letter hadn’t arrived, and she was offered another job in India, she jumped at it, and always saw it as "the hand of God." Perhaps we have all had similar experiences?

  1. There are times when believing is easy:
     when God speaks clearly for me to hear;

  2. beforehand, you are often silent:
     while I ask for help, and there is none.

  3. My new job is arranged; it seems to be right:
     the letter will confirm the decision in due course,

  4. but, in the post, it is delayed too long:
     and another request is received to take its place.

  5. So God makes clear the way:
     you prepare my path before me.

  6. Disaster strikes! I might have been in that car:
     there, but for the grace of God, go I.

  7. In smaller ways, there seem to be signs:
     pointing to new ideas, giving me a jolt.

    9. It seems, when all goes well, a hand is guiding:
       even when troubles come, there often seems some reason.

    10. In looking back, I can see God's hand:
       though the future is still misty and unsure.
