In the 1980s someone suggested that Bishop David Jenkins was making everything far too complicated, so why couldn't he preach the gospel in words of one syllable. He produced 13 words (apart from the name, Jesus, all of only one syllable): "God is; he is as he is in Jesus; so there is hope."
- I believe that God is:
that is all that needs to be stated.
- God is as Jesus shows us:
and therefore there is hope.
- We believe that God is:
that is all we need to say,
- God is always on our side:
so the struggle of life is worth it.
